ARTILLERY project was physically and virtually kicked off on the 23rd of May 2023, when the consortium team first met in Utrecht, Netherlands. Over the coming five years, image scientists, medical doctors, patients, medical ethicists, lawyers, and methodologists will work together to develop trustworthy AI systems that can be applied to routine planning CT scans with the aim of identifying breast cancer patients with (or at risk of) chronic diseases.
After internal and external validation of AI systems in large RWD infrastructures, an international multi-center Decision Impact trial will be conducted to evaluate whether the theoretical benefits of these AI systems translate into real benefits for patients: improved life expectancy and better quality of life.
ARTILLERY is funded by the European Commission in the Horizon Europe program.
